I am an African American female high school senior. I have generally had A's and B's. This year I have a couple of C's. I got into Smith College and I know they are about to receive my mid-year report and I am concerned. Is it likely that they will take back my admission? I am really scared of this, I did not think I would get in and I did not try as hard as I should have this year. Please help, is there anyone out there who goes to Smith or has had a similar situation?

I would guess that your admission would not be rescinded for a couple C’s. However, if I were you I would do everything possible to improve my marks for the rest of the year, as your final grades need to be sent to the school as well. Many seniors make the mistake of thinking that the second half of the year is not important. It is! “Senioritis” can set in but don’t let it prevent you from pursuing your dream of a Smith education. Good luck, but please work hard the rest of the way. If you do, you should be ok.

The will not rescind your admission. Period.

Nah, I doubt any college would rescind an acceptance over a few Cs.
