Yea, this is pretty exciting.

Guh. I'm so jealous. California fails in that respect. Back in AK we'd have a good 3-5 snow days a year.

We didn't have a snow day. We had a 2 hour delay. But I have never driven in the snow before, I left for school (going 20 mph slower than the speed limit mind you) and had a minor wreck. (Tires spun out, practically fish tailing my vehicle 4 times. If I would've lost control I would have spun into the opposite side of the road and been crushed by 2 18-Wheelers. Ended up just scraping the railing, my car looks okay. But the check engine light came on. So my mom has to get that checked out. Needless to say, I didn't make it to school)

it's supposed to snow nonstop until saturday afternoon here. Right now, it's only a light flurry. I doubt I'll miss any school (and I know i'll have class all of next week, it's finals week :()

It's starting to warm up a little bit here. (Maybe high 30s?) So the snow is melting some, stopped flurying.

Still shaken up about this morning and hope it doesn't keep its plan of starting up again..

I wonder when we're going to have our first snow day...

let it snow let it snow let it snow

I had my first snow day today!

it snowed all day today, didnt stick tho so i had school

sorry to resurrect this thread, however, it is a snow day tomorrow and I didn't have anything to do tonight so I kept going backwards. How many snowdays do you guys have per year? About 4 or so here... We missed 14 consecutive days a few years ago though and last year we missed all 5 days of one week due to ice!

we have 3. I live in Indiana and we don't have any days given for it. We have 3 days that are like "early spring break/Make Up Day #1" . If we miss more than those 3 it goes at the end of the year. It's awful. You'd think we'd have some scheduled in but nope

We don't get snow days.

We get these things called "hurricane days" (or hurricane months as in the case of the 2005-2006 school year).
And flood days. Those are fun. Having one of your teachers tell you to move your car because the street outside is flooding (after it's rained about 8'' in the last 6 hours). Not the greatest thing to have to figure out how to get home without stalling out one's car...
But still. It's better than -5 degree F. weather.

^the lack of school in November 2005 (Wilma) will be something I will always remember. I actually wanted to go back to school after being home for soooo long (especially without electricity).

I don't want a snow day, I just want the temperature to drop below 80 degrees for a whole day.

we got about 16 inches overnight last year, but no snow day.

its pouring and 33 degrees
only a few degrees lower......

I'm currenlty pulling an all nighter for a 30+ page lang paper.

^ 30+ page? OuchHhhhh

Snowday today! Freezing rain!

Snowday here too in Missouri! Freezing rain, Ice, and Snow!

<Same on the snow day. Frozen streets ftw.

I'm surprised you all get snow days so easily. In Toronto, I didn't have any snow days since about 1998, when we got several feet of snow in a massive blizzard, which totally shut down the city.

Frozen roads, -30 (Celsius) temperatures, all those things just don't really cut it. ;)
