So apparently I got dropped from my chem class yesterday...

Apparently I got dropped from Chemistry 1A according to the department of Chem and Biochem because I didn't change my major to Bio yet (as it is Econ right now) but I told my academic advisor that I would change it to Bio and she said alright and wrote a note (this was during orientation) and when I went to get my schedule printed out I talked to another advisor who put me in Chem 1A. Now I'm being told I'm on a waiting list. However, I'm afraid that this will mean I have less than 12 credits, and am not a full time student, so what am I suppose to do now? Can I possibly change my major right now and re-enroll before class starts? What are my options?

There is another pass time before school starts. You should be fine!

This exact same thing happened to me. Muserz, what do you mean by “another pass time?”

a lot of people always seem to drop chem (and other courses as well) on the first day of class from my experience. You should be able to get into the chem class by continuously checking the GOLD webpage for any opening slot. I managed to switch from 8 am to 9am chem class last year using this method. You don’t necessarily need to wait for the the waiting list to come through for you to manually enroll in classes on gold in the first week of class. If you can’t get into chem, you can always try to get into other courses to satisfy the 12 unit minimum.

A pass time is when you can register for classes on-line on Gold. The next one is in the beginning of Sept. I believe.

They just re-enrolled me automatically. Seems like they had room after all.
