So.. are jeans acceptable at Exeter?

I'm a prep next year. and the dress code is rather ambiguous about pants, plus people are wearing jeans to class on the Exeter webpage.
Should I expect to be able to wear jeans on a regular basis to classes, or should I buy chinos, skirts, etc?

sweatpants are a definite no to class right?

I might be wrong but I’m pretty sure jeans are a no-no.

Just look at the first picture :-)

From what I’ve heard:

Jeans-definitely
Sweats-no way

I go to Exeter. Jeans are definite yes. Everybody wears jeans, and most if not all teachers let you wear different colors too. Sweats on the otherhands are a NO…unless your senior with a really liberal, uncaring teacher during senior spring and even then there have been many seniors who get sent back.

Are students required to tuck in their dress shirts into their jeans? Or, if there isn’t a requirement, is it common for students to do that, or do they leave it hanging out?

dress code says dress shirts must be tucked in, it depends on the teacher. it’s pretty common for either.

Yes, jeans are acceptable. No sweatpants except for during exams.

Okay, jeans it is! :)

On tucking in shirts - please do it, even if the teacher doesn’t make you. You will look classier and the ladies will appreciate it =).
