Because my college counselor is saying they don't, that once you finish junior year, that's your gpa. Is this true? Because I still need to continue raising my GPA and the first semester will help me in senior year...He also says that it's best to apply before December for colleges? When is the best time to apply?? Ah!! help! (Btw im a junior)

Colleges do ask to see your senior grades. I don't know if every college you apply to wants to see them, but the one you pick to go to definitely will.

For UC, it counts up to junior year. For private schools, senior year counts.

For all ED programs, they will not count. (How can they use your grades if they get them in January and you get a decision in December?)

Some colleges will use your senior grades, others won't. It really does vary.

The best time to apply is in the fall (October/November.) Sometimes, it gets you quick responses from the colleges, but other times, it's just best because it gets things out of the way. Most colleges have deadlines of Dec. 31/Jan. 1 anyways......

So taking a bunch of APs senior year when your GPA isn't that amazing isn't a good idea?

.... That's not why you should take a bunch of AP's senior year. You should take them no matter what and because it shows that you've challenged yourself- it's not to "replace" a low GPA- it's to supplement and explain WHY you got a low GPA (essentially because you challenged yourself.)

Take as many APs as you can comfortably get good grades such as As and Bs.

Well, my gpa's not low because I took a bunch of APs. It's low because I messed up in ninth grade, and really need this to help me out a bit.

Did you also know that a bunch of colleges don't even look at your marks in ninth grade?

If there's also some reason as to why your marks are low, there's usually a section for additional comments where you can put why.

So many colleges don't look at my grades in ninth? Do you know if UF or FSU do?

I wouldn't know. I'm not an expert on those colleges. Sorry!

First of all, AP can void your freshman year college requirements (saves you a lot of money)

2nd of all, ED admissions DO care about your senior year grades, they can deny a student if their grades drop heavily
