So how many juniors are happy that they never have to take this again?

I know scores aren't back yet, but there have to be some people who, like me, are confident in their score/ are taking their subject tests in October, so this will be their last SAT Reasoning Test. I've been preparing for about a year and a half now, so it's kind of a liberating feeling.

you’re so lucky…since i took subject tests in june, I now have to retake the SAT in october…looking forward to a long summer of studying

same, i got a 1580 in february and retaking this october… yay

I took the SAT 2 years ago and got a 2360. So I’m set for that. :)

It’s funny to see everyone else around me scrambling to study when I was done before they even thought about it. Such a better idea to take it early in your school career, when the homework load is relatively light.

Is November and December still an open SAT date for people not doing ED or EA?

yepp…started studying in february, took it in march, got a good score, and im done!

subject tests tho…

I never had that much of a problem with it because I took it twice in middle school for CTY. I wouldn’t advise middle schoolers to willingly subject themselves to it for no reason, but if you get the chance, I say take it–it really helped me to be more comfortable with the test once I actually took it as a high schooler.

Otherwise, yes, waiting on June math section score, but hoping for the best and so happy that the end is in sight!

@Samonuh–Yes, I’m pretty sure most schools will accept those scores.

Yay two years till I have to take the test like you guys… Now I have the pressure…

@kameronsmith Lucky, I won’t have a freed up schedule until after high school. I’m bombarding myself with different AP’s and other work.

This was probably my last SAT. I have Subject Tests left, and I’m a free woman.
Even AP isn’t such a big worry now since by the time I get my senior scores, I’ll have finished the whole college selection process. Woohoo!

some kid i know got a 2350 on his first shot lol. (750 math)

then he got 800 on the chemistry one too.

I got a 2360 on my first shot (760 writing).

I also got 800s on both the lit and math II (first shot).

2330 sat, with 4 subject tests down. HALLELUJAH!
…actually i still have physics sat left to go …bummer.

Why on earth would you take so many subjects? You only need two, three at most…

I wish middle school emphasized taking standardized tests like the SAT and ACT earlier so I would’ve started studying for it in sophomore year or at least sometime earlier than junior year.

I think that’s a little ridiculous. I for one am glad that middle school isn’t polluted by the college prep nonsense that describes most of high school.

Seriously, it doesn’t take that much prep. In junior year, I studied over winter break, took them in January, and was done. Not a huge amount of time or effort wasted on a useless test.

Well some people aren’t as good at standardized tests as others. I studied over winter break and spring break and could only pull a 2080.

I also think it depends on what you’re aiming for as well, but I can see your point for students who might not care. But then again (at least at my school) they put a lot of emphasis on state standardized tests, which just help the school.
