so how much HW are you planning to have next year??

Grade: 10
Well, out of my 7 classes, I only have 5 that give out homework. (my other 2 are art 3 and study hall)

What I’m expecting:

 • Honors Algebra 2: 30 - 45 mins
 • Honors English: 20 mins - 1 hour (I’ve heard from upperclassmen that homework isn’t given out daily)
 • Honors Chemistry: 30 mins - 1 hour (Including daily studying)
 • World History AP: 1hr 30 mins - 2 hrs 30 mins
 • Honors French 2: 10 - 15 mins (Homework is rarely assigned)

So, in total I’m expecting about 3 - 5 hours with no procrastination.

@fp- I would say 1-2 hours AT MOST… Bio will take up the time
@bigblimp- 3-5 hours for those classes?! I spent like 30 minutes on Algebra 2, 20 minutes (at most) in English, 20 minutes in chem (at most), and 1 hour in AP World.

AP Physics B
AP Economics
AP English
AP Stat (might drop this and take AP Calculus AB)

Honestly, I’m not putting more than 1 hour into all four APs  call me lazy.

I’m gonna go back and expand on my homework estimate:
KEY: Q=quickly and diligently D=with distractions

AP English III (Language and Comp): ~1 hour (Q) ~1:30 hrs (D)
AP Chemistry: ~30 min (Q) ~1 hr (D)
AP US History: ~1 hour (Q) ~1:30 hrs (D)
Honors Physics: ~10 min (Q) ~20 min (D)
Honors Pre-Calc: ~40 min (Q) ~1 hr (D)
Honors Spanish: ~5 min (Q) ~15 min (D)
Creative Writing: ~10 min (Q) ~20 min (D)

Studying: ~1 hr (Q) ~2 hrs (D)

Still don’t know my schedule, but I’d hope for under 3 hours a night until robotics kicks in.

@raza68
My school is a top school and unfortunately homework heavy. Last year in bio, I was lucky if I got an hour worth of homework :(

@raza, didn’t realize you were taking THAT many lol.

In that case, Im guessing maybe 3-4 hrs of homework? Im taking AP Calc AB, AP USH, and AP Lang.

I don’t even want to think about how many hours worth of homework I’ll have. I’m taking 2 AP’s, 2 honors courses (one of which requires the senior project, urg) and two classes at a local university. AND I have to find time for a job somewhere in there.

Graduation is going to feel great.

Don’t look at the amount of homework teachers give just do it

I’m not planning on having any. ;)

All joking aside:
AP Biology - With lab reports and notes, I’m looking at about an hour or two on an average night.
AP Government - Maybe 45 minutes a night. Notes, mostly.
AP Lit - I will likely be able to complete my assignments doing 30 minutes to an hour of this a night.
AP Spanish - 30 min-1 hour
AP Music Theory - I have no idea what to expect. 30 minutes?
College Algebra - If I do all the work, at least an hour. But I don’t know if I’ll do all the work.
Choir - I practice a lot, so…I don’t know. 45 min-an hour a night

Assuming I have all of this homework every night, I should have 5-6 hours but I’m sure I won’t have Gov every night and I won’t have Algebra every night (we get a period off once a week). So it’ll probably be around 2-4 pretty regularly, excluding choir. Assuming I don’t procrastinated.

I have six APs and am self-studying two.

So basically, I’m going to kill myself.

Around 4 hours on average. Hopefully not more. Depends on how heavy the reading is for AP Modern Euro. And AP English takes more time per night when we’re reading novels rather than working out of a textbook, usually.

No way. I won’t be at all ready for them.

Hmm…less classes, a little bit more difficulty, and more time. I’d say an hour or two.
American Lit-I requested a very good but incredibly hard teacher
Alg II- Not much HW probably, mostly math problems and worksheets
APES- Depends on how seriously the teacher takes this. My guess is probably a lot or reading and/or notes
U.S. History-Depends on who I get. It could be little to no work, or it could be a lot of not so hard work.

Like zero.
I don’t do any of my homework because our teachers give us practically half the time finishing our hw.
Not to mention I skip lunch and I’ll do it during that time.

And I am in all Honors class and self-studying 4 APs

I don’t understand you guys. I had 3 APs and 3 Honors last year and spent maybe 30 minutes a day studying/doing homework. At that was usually the maximum…and I still got As in everything, so it’s not like I was slacking off…

You just have a creampuff school.

I plan on having about 2-3 hrs., and that is with 5 AP courses. My school isn’t very HW heavy, but is, at the same time considered competitive.

haha, I forgot to mention that I am self studying AP Comp gov, AP Us gov, and maybe another? Lol, just kill me now. I wont have any time for colleges apps

@hotanengineer Well, enough if it is creampuff, it managed to prepare me enough to get two 5s and a 4 without the ridiculous 5 hours/night of homework…
