School is about to start, so I thought that this thread would be a good idea. How much time do you expect to spend on HW daily? I'll start off
grade: 12th
HW guess: 5-6 hours daily (it is gonna be a fun year lol.. And I am not even mentioning college apps, clubs, and things of that sort :()
Anyone else care to guess?

Junior year is gonna be tough and I’m looking to work harder than before, so I’m expecting four to six hours. Depends on the teacher and classwork. :/

Probably the same as you op lol. I have 3 APs

Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using CC App

Lots…

@lakerssince95- ur taking 3 aps and u expect to have that much HW? Wow, ur school must be HW heavy lol. I am taking 6 or 7 and Im only expecting 5-6 hours…atleast I hope I have “that little”
How about the rest of u guys? How many AP/IB/honors classes are u taking?

if you have 3 aps and expecting 5-6 hours of hmw then you really need to work more diligently. I just finished my junior year with 2 aps and an honors math, pretty much considered an ap at my school since it’s private and doesn’t have meaningless aps like ap music or anything like that. Ap chem maybe 30 mins worth, ap environ like 2 hours a week, pre calc honors like 30 minutes.

Junior year was actually pretty easy for me, even though it was my first year taking weighted classes. The classes are obviously a bit tougher, but you should be used to hs by now and things just seem to flow pretty well. Work hard and study as much as you can, but if you don’t do anything but that then your life seems empty and wasteful, plus it doesn’t amaze colleges as much as you’ll be thinking. You have to be well rounded, so if you’re doing hmw 24/7 and aren’t involved in anything, then that looks bad on your part.

play sports, get tons of volunteering hours, tour colleges, and have fun. prepare for a hard year, but don’t be surprised when it seems easier than sophomore year.

I agree with socalstudent3. Last year I took 3 APs and precalc 2 (precursor to BC… basically like an AP) and I had like 2-3 hours of HW at most (AP Bio took up alot of the HW time)

I’m taking 5 APs, and I’m expecting around 4-5 hours of homework.

3 APs with 3 honors and 1 regular? Perhaps… 4-5 hours if I work diligently.
Put that on top of volunteering 2 hours a day and… kill me.

6 APs next year. 5 hours? Ehhh

6 honors classes and 2 regular classes. Guessing between 15 minutes to an hour and 45 minutes. But, I don’t study (I skim instead) and make 100s on every tests.

Homework wise? Probaby two hours, excluding studying and everything.
Grade: 10th

@10911- Which AP classes are u taking?

I’m taking one AP class (Physics B) and three Honors courses (Algebra II/Trig, World History, English II) and I’m expecting probably two hours a night? Depending on my English and World History teachers, I could end up with a lot of annotating, so that would increase my workload by two hours. I also have a class where I need to memorize lines, though that should, at most, be an extra thirty minutes a night when we’re producing plays.

Lessee, checking the schedule…

I have two AP classes (US History II and French V), two high honors (English and Trig/Pre-Calc), and two honors (Physics and Macroeconomics). I’d have taken AP Language and Composition if I hadn’t been in such an anti-writing mood when picking the classes. There are also some potential ECs like Key Club.

@Marisashana- Do u plan on taking the AP tests for macro, lang/lit, and physics?

I never had more than 15 minutes a night, with the exception of papers where I would diligently procrastinate. With four AP’s… During my senior year I went a stretch of a month without doing anything. High school is fun.

Ehh at my high school… probably around 3 hours a night. Get a 1.5 free period every other day as well! ^o^

4-5 Hours, until 2nd semester!
Taking 3 aps, 1 honors, and intermediate micro.

Here is my freshman class schedule I would appreciate it if someone could tell me how much hw they think I might have.

Geometry
Algebra 2
Computer Science
World History
Honors English 1( might be honors English 2 not sure)
Biology
Altogether probably 60- 90 min of hw a night
