Those would cover the main specs.

Paid ~$1600 for this system. Did I make a good investment?

For the last week there have been MANY laptop threads and all but 2 posters said they liked dell. IMO your screwed yourself. But hey, you had MANY MANY resources you could have checked out before you bought it.

Returning could be an issue though. Dell charges a 15% restocking fee. Nevertheless, you'd save a considerable chunk of change by returning it and buying it again cheaply.

Also, don't buy RAM from Dell. Buy it seperately and then insert it yourself.

2 GB RAM and a T2500 seem like overkill to me. Do you really need them?

There's NOTHING wrong with 2GB of RAM, you can never have too much these days! Anyway, the price was a little much, the video card should have been upgraded, but the whole package looks pretty good. Dell ROCKS! None of the Dell Bashers on CC have actually owned Dells, so don't listen to them!

Strykur- You're an idiot. Please stop. Most of ALL the cc'ers have dell. Like me, my laptop is apple, but my parents desktop (which i used prior to my laptop) and my mom has a dell laptop. Why? Because you can get them so cheap and the real people who know what to look for, spend the little extra cash to upgrade from donkey s***. Dells are not horrible, but they lack in almost all their areas. For most people who are looking at dells, are the older population and anything will do for them.

Well, I did use a 30% off coupon to reduce the price from 2300ish 1600. I don't know if another 30% off coupon would've worked in conjunction. Anyway, thanks for the opinions. My scholarship money pays up to $2000 for a laptop, so this isn't out of my budget anyway.

NoNs3: the only idiot on this thread is YOU....stop trendwhoring for macs...dells are excellent. I own a desktop and notebook from dell...never given me a single problem. if you want to jump the mac bandwagon go ahead....but don't bash dell because you don't know ****

I always go with the amount of ram included in the price, never do I add more... simply because it's a lot cheaper if you do it yourself. By the time 2gigs for a computer is needed, a gig of ram will probably cost $20. I'd also like to add, why did you go with the core duo 2.0ghz? What will you be using your laptop for that you need that fast of a computer? To be honest, I think you went overboard on this computer and upgraded parts you didn't need.

Thanks for the honest opinions. The reason I did all this is because I can spend up to $2000 on a laptop (excess scholarship money). This did not cost a penny out of me.
