so i was waitlisted! any helpful suggestions?

that's right...BLU'S BACK. some people very kindly IMed my cell phone to let me know some of the things that were going on, but I can't believe that there are two pages of threads THAT I HAVE NOT REPLIED TO. Seriously, people...I'm going to be reading these threads until the early hours of the morning.

I had the most amazing time in Florida...and you know what? When I heard the word "waitlist" come out of my mom's mouth, up until that moment, I had totally forgotten that being waitlisted was a possibilty! Seriously, i was thinking that either I'd be rejected or accepted, and the waitlist slipped my mind. I'm not expecting to get in off the waitlist, of course - but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to how I could turn it into an acceptance. PM it to me, if you like.

Otherwise, it's Tufts 09 for me, and i'm still thrilled!

Congrats to all who got in, and to those who did not, I don't even need to tell you that you'll be happy wherever you end up - you already know that!

Congratulations on Tufts, blu!

From what I hear, the best thing to do is to communicate your deep interest to Dartmouth and that they're still your first choice. A letter would probably say it best. And, naturally, toss any new developments that would enhance your app their way.

But I'd say the best advice is talk to your college counselor and don't listen to CC putzes like me giving you advice :)

I would do a couple things. 1) Try to have a teacher or someone write a recommendation 2) write them a letter and 3) call and talk to the admissions office expressing your interest.

Sorry blu, but congrats on the other acceptances!

I also was waitlisted and will either go to UVA or William and Mary

I still want to go to Dartmouth but I don't know how much time I'll spend trying to sway adcoms as my chances are slim to none!
