So I've picked my schedule...what do you think of it?

Note: I signed up for Econ 1, Chem 1A, EPS 39A and Yongmudo (PE) for 10.5 units, NOT math. The Math 1A on there is just what I'd like to put down during Phase 2, provided it's still open by then (I expect/hope!!).

Now for the questions.

1) The EPS 39 is a Californian geology course involving a four day mountain trip. 26 people have signed up for it out of 30, but there is a waiting list of 9 people. Why does it go into waitlist mode after 26/30 people?

Selection is manual. What are the chances I'll get on it? Is it a very good idea to attend all the initial classes to maximize those chances?

2) Yongmudo has 18 out of 26 places filled, and I'm second on the waiting list. The waiting list is automatic. As I understand it, does this mean that I am 100% certain to get on it?

3) I put Econ 1 before Math 1A because it seemed to be filling up much faster. Is that a prudent move and is there any chance at all that all Math A will get filled up by the time I come round to making my Phase 2 choices (from 25 July)?

Thanks.

1) Because it was full, but 4 people left afterwards.
2) yes
3) not sure, hopefully someone else can answer

Math 1A probably will not be full. You just won't get your choice of professor b/c the good one usually fills up by end of Phase I
