So, little boys and girls, what do you want to be when you grow up?

@halcyonheather, I have the same pipe dream, except replace math with science. That is my dream, but it probably won’t happen because of the job market. I kind of want to stay in the academia bubble, though, if at all possible.

FOR SCIENCE!

Neurosurgery has been my dream for a while, but I’m starting to get interested in Cardiothoracic surgery as well. :)

In elementary school I wanted to be a martial arts dojo owner, but now I want to be a novelist. I’d probably earn more as a martial arts dojo owner than as a novelist.

A more realistic job…like, as in, a job that would pay the bills…I don’t know what that would be…

For the longest time, I wanted to do Political Science and then Law school. But over time that has lost its appeal. Social sciences get boring quickly, I think I only liked them because I did well in class.

So now I’m at a loss, lol. I like physics and engineering, but I don’t like math. I don’t think I’m particularly great at it either (but my teacher vehemently disagrees), so I’m too scared to really commit to that. I thought about doing something with bio/chem and going to med school, but I don’t like bio/chem as much as physics (though I do like them). I’ve also contemplating an economics undergrad and then law school (I’d likely do corporate law / patent law type stuff, not Constitutional Law as I wanted when I was set on Political Science).

Tl;dr I’m leaning towards engineering because I like it best at the moment, but I’m still unsure.

Journalist, so I’ll probably end up either homeless with no job or poor if I do manage to find one. But it’s what I love, so I don’t really care how much I make.

I’m still trying to figure that out and dedicated my winter break to it. So far, I know that being a foreign service officer a.k.a. diplomat sounds tempting. The putting-my-life-in-danger part, not really. Also, it’s really competitive from what I’ve heard.

I really like languages. And traveling seems nice. And Culture.

I attended Foreign Policy Classroom at the US dep of state and I fell in love. I really want to become a diplomat to a foreign country. I always knew that I was gonna take classes focused on economics and political science and language in college, but its nice to have a more specific goal to work towards now.

A journalist… I love news, and I can’t imagine being anything else despite what my parents think.

I really want to be an astrophysicist. That is currently the dream. :)

off topic but this is a really creepy thread title

I want to be a pediatric psychiatrist. Part of me, however, thinks it would be cool to do research. Part of me would love to direct. And part of me would love to act.

But, pediatric psychiatrist is definitely the plan.

freelance IT security analyst by day, black hat hacker by night

Haha @Halogen :)

Me? I’m kind of deciding. I’m thinking about Industrial Engineering, Design, or Economics…

Professional Underwater Basketweaver.

An assassin

Happy. I want to be happy.

cue groans

Maybe a computer programmer or something in IT. True Indian right here.

@AnImpAffliction LOVE the name, the book TFIOS was really good, i cried at the end. Oh, and I want to go into something IT, maybe i might wanna be a Software Developer or something.

QuadraticKid, thank you!! I loved the book too, ha ha. Oh, software developer would be good too…

from what i want to do first to last, with regards to order
