I want to be forensic psychiatrist.

well, i’m going into elementary education (and yes, i’m serious) but i’ve wanted to be many things in the past. here are a few

marine biologist
linguist
translator
veterinarian
opera singer
pastry chef
neurologist
geneticist
political scientist
author

thankfully i’m not still undecided!

I want to be the person that works in the top clearance government biotechnology program working with Ebola and hemorrhagic fevers and things that make you bleed oh dear I sound like a nut job I should stop and explain. I want to be a researcher or doctor of infectious disease, and I want to be the one that discovers the way to stop hemorrhaging due to diseases like Ebola. It is creepy, I know, but SO COOL.
My teacher’s brother wanted to be a cucumber when he grew up, if that’s relevant.

@detpeace, I love your second option. That’s totally my go-to “job” when I get going about the country house I’m going to have with all my animals and traveling everywhere…
But seriously, I want to be a chemical engineer, either working with the military (I have a friend’s mom who did this) or in pharmacy (drug development). As for other job aspirations, I have a friend who as a 4th grader wanted to be a weesnau when he grew up, but no one knows what he meant by that. He’s now pursuing electrical engineering, so there’s that.

I want to be the same thing I’ve wanted to be since I was 7: a conservation biologist.

As a child, dreamed of being a veterinarian. Middle school hit and since then I’ve wanted to be a trauma surgeon.

Not a high school student, but I want to go into either videogame/software programming or AI research :3

Economics major, humanities (maybe Theater or Classics) minor------>MBA---->Investment banking or equity

My name is actually an interesting coincidence with this career path. I was in a play called Father of the Bride a few years ago and the father’s name is Mr. Banks. The actor who played that part was fond of shouting the triumphant phrase, “Big Banks Baby!” when he was getting ready to perform, which I always found highly amusing. At the time I didn’t want to go into banking, but now it seems fitting.

Funnily enough my name also seems to imply that I am the son of a banker–in fact, my father is a mechanic.

My apologies for the contemplative paragraph, I was just thinking about the banking thing when I saw my name and wanted to type about it.

Would like to go into surgery, perhaps

when I was seven I wanted to be a dancer/singer/scientist/doctor

now it’s just economist.

doctor is what I want you to do.

When I was in the second grade, I used to take notebook paper out during class, fold them into little books, and write so-called “novels” about the various, imagined adventures of my friends and me. It sort of went from there, and I’m currently a writing major. We’ll see what happens. :P

I actually do think about what other jobs I would like to have, if writing doesn’t work out. There are so many, though! I’ve always been interested in abnormal psychology, and I think I could make a darn good clinical psychologist for children and teenagers. I also really appreciate historical preservation, and I could totally be one of those people who dresses up in a period costume and leads sweaty tourist groups around some sort of Colonial mansion or Antebellum plantation. I also like theatre, so I guess that’d work out nicely for me.

Right now I’m really in love with film, though, and I think that my writing might be headed in that direction. I love writing screenplays, and I would love to be a film critic or someone in charge of Oscar coverage at a magazine somewhere. That would be amazing. I just need a job where I can A.) create, or B.) Directly see the impact I am making in other people’s lives.

Lawyer. Specifically, either contract, int’l, or patent law. Only problem with patent law would be the science degree qualification…oh well, no one else’s said lawyer yet, so hopefully T14 schools might be easier to get into in 4 years ;)

something math-y

I want to work in economic and social development…maybe for an NGO like the United Nations.

Philosopher

Right now, I am considering a career related to either geophysics or geological engineering. I am also thinking about one day joining the National Guard for Air Traffic Control because I am quite interested in ATC, but the job outlook does not look great. On the side, I would love to be an author and write different novels/ short stories.
Wow, I sound like I’ll be busy.

Some business/finance related career in a country outside the US.

Build an AI-focused company that rivals (or even buys) Google! lol

mass-produce housekeeper robots (cheap and efficient!)

make RPG games

augmented and virtual reality (like Occulus Rift)

robots replacing dangerous jobs (like coal-mining)

protect ethics by restricting AI from entering jobs requiring empathy (like doctors)

buy Nintendo for Pokemon MMORPG

stop Sony from controlling entertainment

make instrumental music popular again!

@Hamletz, Hahaha, I guess the title is unintentionally creepy I wasn’t thinking about how it sounded when I wrote it
And wow, we’re a pretty diverse and motivated group!
