so mad! what can i do for community service!

i was supposed to be volunteering at the local hospital this summer but i just called and they said they already have too many applicants!! i am beyond mad because my aunt works there and was going to let me volunteer in research.. i really need to start putting in great community service hours and i don't know what to do? please give me some creative suggestions!! i am so upset right now because i was planning on volunteering at the hospital 3 times a week all summer! =(

If you are into sports you could volunteer at a local YMCA. If you go to church I am sure there are various volunteer opportunities there or through there. There are volunteer organizations like Habitat for Humanity that you can get involved in. Your school might have service clubs. Plenty of ways to volunteer. You can also try to start your own volunteer thing.

VolunteerMatch: Where Volunteering Begins

Library. Red Cross. School functions. Big Brothers Big Sisters. YMCA. Any non-profit organization.

You sound like a pretty arrogant bastard. Mad because the hospital has too many kind, caring people offering to help out and you might not get your precious volunteer hours?

You could do relay 4 life if they do that where u live. That will give u 24...

southeastitan- i am not an arrogant bastard. i need to do community service because i am a pageant girl and i need a lot of hours. the hospital was my first choice and i am really interested in what goes on at hospitals. i am mad because that was my first choice and i am looking for something else i could do that is fun and creative. so you can take a hike and just don't post if you are going to be negative and mean. k. thanks.

Maybe your aunt can arrange for an exception to be made in your case?

I'm just saying, you shouldn't be mad because there's too MANY volunteers! It's a good thing. Disappointed, maybe. But mad? That's pretty arrogant.

But then, you're a pageant girl, that is kind of your profession, isn't it?

More constructively, try Big Brothers Big Sisters. I work there and it's great.

kk, well sorry i sounded like a b**ch. & it is not my profession.. it isn't a beauty pageant, it is based on talent and community service. trust me, i am no barbie. & dissapointed is a better word i guess. i am not mad that there are too many volunteers, it is just that i can't do it. but thanks for the advice!

just go to like a nearby retirement home, preschool or soup kitchen. they will definitely have stuff for you to do and will be willing to give you service hours for it.
