I read your post, and before I got to the distance thing, you 100% described the university of michigan. It's quite a bit further than you specified, but as far as fit goes, I don't think you're going to find a better school.

That being said, admission could be difficult. It's hard for me to judge based off of limited info, but 3.3 normally won't cut it for michigan. Also, Ross is one of the best business schools in the nation, and is consequently very competitive. However, the program doesn't start until your sophomore year and you apply at the end of freshman year, so if you came here and did well freshman year, you could feasibly have a shot at studying business at one of the best places possible, at a university that fits exactly what your looking for!!

Thanks, HauckT, but I really do want to stay within the 4 hr limit. Mich is about 10-11 hrs by car, and taking a plane is just too inconvenient/expensive. My parents just would not go for it...

I think I misscalculated my GPA, it should be a bit higher... Possibly a 3.5. I can't really tell because we have it out of 100%, but my school has these conversion sheets, and my average came out to aroun a 3.5 gpa or so.

How about University of Rochester? They’re private, but do give out a good bit of aid, I believe. It is dreary there in that snow belt though. They do have a med school, nursing school and business school.
