Uh so I still haven't ordered my textbooks for my classes yet. I'm taking Math 1, Chem14A, and GE Cluster 60A America In The 60s. I think I'm covered for Math 1 since my friend took it last year and I'll just buy the book off him. That leaves me with 5 books left. 3 of the books I'm sure I can just buy at Borders or something for $10-15 since they're just novels. I've been looking online and haven't really found a decently priced book for my Chem14A and main GE Cluster book yet. I was wondering if I'd have enough time still to get my books. Not sure exactly how long shipping will take if I order it online =

For those taking Chem14A, where did you find the book? Where did you buy it from? I couldn't find one on half.com or anything. I don't wanna pay $200 for one at the UCLA store :(

Just buy the textbook from the book store and then return it when the ebay/amazon/half/abe/ etc book comes in the mail. Just make sure it can be returned.

I usually waited until 2nd week or 3rd week to buy textbooks because by then I had an idea of what textbooks I even needed. Some classes you will never even crack the "required" textbook, so don't waste your money until you know you'll need it. I know this can be stressful for you first-years, but be strong :D

You die, of course. And you fail as a 'Bruin.' You'll be behind your peers and drastically falter... failing your Chem 14A midterms because you failed to purchase brand new, overpriced books from Ackerman Union. Now tell me, how does it feel to fail miserably? If not now but soon enough? You had your chance and you blew it. Congratulations!

That's terrible!! My life goal has always been to be a True Bruin but now I can see that will never happen :( I might as well kill myself now...or worse...transfer to USC...

Are the textbooks always available on-campus to buy in-person, in case we can't/don't order them? Or do they only bring in a certain amount, and it's like first-come, first-serve??
