Hi, I'm an incoming freshman in Chem Bio, and I'm currently at 13 units. My schedule seems a little.. empty, with lots of openings. So I was thinking of taking Chinese 1-AX (or wherever the online placement test places me; haven't taken it yet), which, I think is a Chinese-learning class for people who already speak basic Mandarin. Anyways, the class is 3 units, and only has lectures 3 hours a week. It fits pretty well in my schedule.

The problem (well, not exactly a problem) is that I checked Chinese 10-AX (next level), and it says that prerequisites include Chinese 1-BX. And Chinese 1-BX doesn't exist. What's up with that?

Also, is anyone taking the class? How's the load? I heard regular 5-unit language classes are considerably heavy, with lectures everyday and whatnot. But this seems a little easier.
