So... which one is better?

Ok, well, I really want to apply to several schools:
MIT
Stanford
Yale
Harvard
Princeton

Well, the main question i have is do these schools prefer math level 2 (for the subject tests) as opposed to 1? I am curious because, quite frankly, I have tried the practice math level 2 and do not feel too hopeful about scoring high on it... which scares me as I always thought I was good at math. anyways, as I was saying I was curious because I feel confident I can do better on the math level 1. I realize MIT said they will accept both, but does anyone know if they prefer or look better on one?

Math 2. Because: Math 1 = SAT Math, which in this case is pretty low level.

Math II is the route almost all math/science oriented kids go.

I’m sure you’ll do fine. My friend took it sophomore year after taking Algebra II and she got a 780.

At the same time, don’t screw yourself by going and getting like a 600 on Math II. If the choice is between a 600 on Math II and a 750+ on Math I, go with Math I. Usually, after taking Precalculus, you should be able to do rather well on Math II.

You should also keep in mind that the curve on the Math II is more generous, at the expense of percentile rank.

I took several practice tests for Math II and was expecting 680-720 but I came away with an 800, so don’t be too worried.

Also, how many years of math courses you’'ve taken should also be an influential factor in your decision. If you’ve taken precal, you’ll likely do better on the Math II exam.
