Rigorous schedule aside, I’m actually pretty happy school is starting up soon. It gives me structure, I guess.
I can’t be the only one.
I already started school and I was excited to see my teachers and who’s in my classes. But now that I’ve already done that, it’s not that exciting anymore.
Sort of, because it beats staying home all the time and doing summer assignments and studying for the SAT.
I start school on September 8th, so I have a good three weeks left!
Same. I feel so non productive during the summer.

Senior year seemed so exciting in June…now it’s a bit terrifying, especially since I still don’t have my license.
I have this feeling sometimes too, but the reason I kind of want to go back to school is because I forgot the reasons why I disliked school while it was still In session 
.
I always get really antsy and I want to go back to school during the summer, but after the first day I’m like ew school sucks why did I want to be back here? I like structure though, so that’s why summer kind of stresses me out.
That’s the thing, though. See, I’m always excited for school to start when it’s summer, and excited for summer to start when it’s school. I always set too high standards and end up being disappointed.
Summer Pros:
a) Sleep in all day/Stay up all night
b) Free time (see a)
c) Do whatever you want (classes, programs, etc)
d) More time for socialization with friends
e) Practically no responsibilities*
*may vary by age
Summer Cons:
a) Gets boring after a while
b) If you aren’t a very social person (see: TheSlacker16) you won’t see anyone until school starts
c) Parents may make you do more chores
d) Studying for SATs, college apps, etc is tedious after a while
School Pros:
a) Socialization w/others
b) Things to do (ECs) that keep you away from home (also a con, it depends)
c) Academic Challenges (also a con, depends)
d) Structure in your life after 8-11 weeks of whatever
School Cons:
a) Drama! Christ…
b) Fights (…actually, it’s pretty entertaining. Especially during lunch.)
c) Work. So much busywork…
d) Annoying/lazy/unhelpful/(insert any adjective here) teachers
e) Classes with people you 1) don’t know or 2) don’t talk to
f) Seeing people you dislike on a daily/near daily basis
g) Judgemental @assholes and “others” that lower your self esteem on a daily basis
…Need I go on? School is only fun for the first day, maybe a week at most before it becomes boring again. I like learning and all but summer is great.
Yeah, I feel you. School makes me feel good about myself, though, to a degree. It’s like, the one thing I’m good at. I feel like being at school is more of a talent than anything, and it makes me feel talented when I get decent grades. (’: I wish sleeping all day and watching youtube was also considered a talent.
I am! I always feel this way during the end of summer, but when the year starts, I can’t stand it! The noise, work, and waking up early get to me.
Luckily, this is my senior year, so I’m almost done with high school!
I’m looking forward to it right now but you can bet I’ll be longing for summer again two weeks into the school year or sooner, haha.
Towards the end of junior year, I kept imaging my perfect summer. I couldn’t wait for summer to begin.
But now, I can’t wait to be back in school, honestly. Am I the only student who count downs till school starts again? I feel like school is fun sometimes, because I still get to see my friends every day. I don’t stay home during all of summer, but I’ve been spending the majority of my summer days at home, and it’s not very interesting.
I guess the one con of going back to school is waking up at 7am.
Yeah, exactly. School is like my structure, because I don’t do much outside of it. I’m really bad at keeping relationships with my friends strong over the summer because I don’t really reach out and talk to people much. Having school bring me together with them daily really helps me keep my relationships strong. Strong relationships = more chances at getting out of the house. LOL.
