I know it's a little early, but a lot places are starting to take applications, and I can't wait for this cold weather to be over! I'm thinking about two different jobs, being a lifeguard at a community pool or volunteering at a summer camp. I can't decide! The pool would make good, good money (I could finally buy my video ipod!) but if I volunteer, I would get to stay at the camp for free for a month and the hours would look amazing on my transcript.

I'm volunteering as a "leader in training" at my camp, because I'm too old to go to it now (it was a 7-12 camp and I'm a graduating senior). I'd say that if you need the money for university, take the lifeguard job, but if not (as it sounds like is the case with the video iPod... you could always get one for a birthday/holiday?) then I'd volunteer at the summer camp. Besides, camp is awesome. :D

I can't wait for the summer.... my extended essay will be written and I will know what I'm doing next year!!!

I'm working.

I'm not sure yet if I'll just be doing music related work, or if I'll be working as a bank teller, too. I guess it depends on how my music jobs shape up in terms of time and money.

I don't have to get a summer job because I've been working since I turned 16(1 year, 4 months)

Won't get one unless a worthwhile opportunity (ie NOT working as a waiter/ress) opens up, which will be never given the number of restaurants that need staff here.

Lol, I've been working since I've been 14 about 15 hours per week in the school year and from 25-50 in the summer.

yeah, i plan to work during the summer, at the same dang job i've had year-round since the summer before freshman year (i'm a senior now)...yay library jobs

If I don't get into RSI or the other free science program I'm applying to, I'll try to find some research locally and work part-time.

either im gonna apply for a job at finish line - i could use the money.....

but i was also offered this internship at this independent record label. I think doing the internship would be more rewardable, even though its not paid. But it could get me to network with some people in the industry.

Any advice?

I am going to work days for my company, cutting lawns, doing paver installations, mulch, general stuff, and then at nights or on off days I am going to try getting a job from a general contractor either cleaning (nights) or building additions.

Possibly._______________

uhhh... blockbuster or an indie record store.

hopefully a creperie.

(i work at a bakery right now, so we'll see. i'll also be taking a summer class...business)

working in a lab, or course I'll be the subject

STARBUCKS (ill continue working there over the summer)!!!!

I'm getting a job for May and June, maybe at the local preserve. Hopefully I won't be home in July. Then I'll work on apps and summerwork and hang out with friends/family until school starts.

Probably continue working at a call center doing technical support for people's internets. It'll be a year in May, so why not get the experience. I'm going to try to work 40 hours this summer though. I'll def need it for college. I already need it now to make 300+ car payments. blah.

I'm working at some crap job with a friend, basically doing building maintenance at Cornell. It's Cornell, but there's nothing academic about it. What I'm really looking forward to is the fact that I'm moving out of my house in about 4 months. I'm getting an apartment over the summer with some friends, which should be rediculous.

Interning at a local brokerage firm.

I will be selling books.
