So...

Who's applying to Whitman this year?

mabey me, don't know, I know some who for sure are though

Whitman is an amazing school. We just returned from the Family Weekend (my son is a first year). Students seem to be working very hard and having a great deal of fun. Because it tends to attract students who are strong students, but not necessarily intensely competitive, it tends to fly under the radar on this board (where there is often some skew related to the admissions race process as a competition). There are some reviews of Whitman visits that might interest you posted on http://admissionsadvice.mywowbb.com/forum7/

I'm applying there definitely, but I'd only matriculate if I get a hefty finaid package. They're pretty expensive :(

I had an interview with an admissions officer yesterday though. I think it went pretty well; he was really helpful and answered alot of my questions

There is no doubt I am applying. After looking at almost every top LAC in the NE I found Whitman a breath of fresh air. I live in the midwest so I could go either east or west...but am definitely leaning west. I was so happy to find a school like this in the PNW! Only drawback is it takes along time for me to travel to WW, WA...but won't let that stand in the way.

I'm applying too! I visited it this weekend and loved it soooo much!

Flyboy- we meet again! We flew Delta from CO Springs to Salt Lake to Pasco (which is about an hour west of WW,WA), and I've heard you can fly directly to WW through Seattle on Horizon Airlines.

I'm applying! i just had a interview with a way cool admissions counselor and now Whitman seems that much greater.

Whitamn is my second choice- but i'd love to go there. Sucks that they don't have early action. The campus is beautiful, and my interview went really well.

I'm applying just because I love it from websites and brochures... but I'm on the other side of the country, so I can't really visit. What do you guys love about it?

we flew to ww through Seattle but there are only 2 flights/day so if you get to seattle earlier than noon you have to wait 4 hours for the connection.

I got in to Colorado College ED. Good luck to anyone going to Whitman..it would have been my next choice..great school...take advantage of the outdoor program..it looks awesome.
