Hey, guys. How important is it to finish soc 4 by fall to transfer?
BUMP
There’s only three req for the major? Usually you can complete in spring, but if there’s only three req (and one might not be articulated ?), and its selective, I might suggest doing it in fall. Just because it would make it look better. But in theory you have until spring.
I assume you mean Soc 1?
@lindyk8 in my college, soc 4 is soc 20.
it says you do not have to have it though
I see. You mean soc 20. The CCC I was looking at doesn’t have it articulated. It says take at UCLA. If you have the course at your CCC, it will probably be easier than the UCLA version.
I just looked on the web site. There are three courses. Soc 20 does not say optional. Nor does it say optional on the assist I was looking at.
right, @lindyk8. but to get accepted, assist says that soc 20 does not need to be completed before transfer.
Ok, yeah, I just saw it. So you’re doing it spring or not at all? Since your CCC has it and not all CCCs do, I just think it will make you look more competitive to finish it by spring, even though it’s optional. It shows commitment to the major. If it wasn’t selective, I wouldn’t say that.
I wanted to do it by spring, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to do it by fall
Since it’s optional, spring should be fine.
I think I saw you want to go to law school. Soc is a good major for that.
I’m a ucla Soc major. Don’t worry about taking it for admission purposes, BUT regardless of your professor, that class is a pain at ucla. Take it before transfer if possible.
@2016Candles that makes me happy! yay!
