Social life at UC Irvine

Hey guys!

I have heard a LOT of bad things about life at the University of California, Irvine so I’d like to see how much of it is a myth and how much is true.

  1. Commuter Campus
  2. Rich Kid Neighborhood
  3. In general, boring because no big athletics and uninteresting campus.

So, does life really suck at UC Irvine?

Also, how do employers and people see University of California, Irvine graduates?
Is graduating from University of California, Irvine, a desirable thing?

Any info is much appreciated.
Thanks!

Damn is the UC Irvine thread dead or what.

I was having lunch at Eureka a couple of weeks ago and the said the social life sucks. She said she goes to UCI and it’s boring.

Well, for the UC schools that are in the suburban setting, UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, UCI, Cal, etc., there are bound to be kids who live within commuting distance to the campus and choose to live at home after the first year to save money. The UCI campus does become very quiet in the weekends. I think that is true for many UCs.
