Hey everyone, I was talking with an alum of Purdue who said that when she was there, there wasn’t much to do unless you were in a sorority. Granted, this was 30 years ago, but I’m wondering if anyone else shares/opposes this opinion? Also, most of my other schools that I’m applying to are on the smaller side when compared to Purdue (they range 4,000-12,000), so if someone could tell me a little bit about what it’s like to be a student at such a large college, that would be cool too. thanks!
I was a member of the Marching Band at Purdue, so I always had something to do and friends to hang out with. Purdue is only large for a year and a half or so. Once you settle into your major your classes will be concentrated in particular sections of the University, making the rest “background”. It never felt overly large even in the early days of being a freshman, and it remains one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
