Hi! I was wondering what the social life would be like without joining the Greek community. Would there still be lots to do? Or is the best way to have a great social experience to do the greek thing?

In terms of the greek system, it entirely depends on your personality. A lot of people love the system, and a lot of people don't care for it.

There will be open parties on the row on both wednesday (move in day) and thursday nights. Rush goes on the first week of school, so all the houses will be open for freshman.

I suggest going to the row (28th st, a couple blocks from campus) in order to get a feel for whether the greek scene is for you or not. Talk to some people there (try multiple houses, not just one) and see if it's the kind of place you want to be around during college.

Greek life isn't for everyone. That's why there's a ton of clubs that you can get involved in on campus. Watch out for the involvement/club fair which should be happening on Trousdale sometime during the next couple weeks.

But if anyone's planning on rushing a sorority, don't visit the row before recruitment! there are some specific rules about that, but i'm too lazy to look them up right now. ;)
