How is the social life at Cornell, are the a lot of good parties activities and stuff to do that people get involved or is it strict academics ??

tons of stuff to do, but you gotta be proactive and look for things. Nothing's gonna come to you.

frat parties tend to dominate the social scene...at least for fall semester

unless you're one of the thousands of kids who doesn't go to frat parties every weekend

My first semester was most frat parties then they got lame....until I turned 21 it was hard to find things on the party end...mostly went to random house parties.

i am in ithica visiting cornell as i type. apparently you cant really go any where since freshman dorms are so far away from college town and stuff. i guess the only thing i could see a freshman doing would be going to some parties at some frats or something

yeah...North Campus is far from most places...but that's why we have the drunk bus!! :-)

yes...hiking (or stumbling) back from collegetown to north is NOT a fun activity. The thing about Cornell is that its almost all frat parties. They get rather boring after awhile...because a frat party is a frat party is a frat party..not matter what the theme.

If partying is your definition of social life, then yes, frat parties may dominate the social scene at Cornell. But there are plenty of other things to do at Cornell--music performances, dance performances, theater, movies, speakers, bands, just hanging out with friends. You just need to expand your definition of social life. Not everyone is getting drunk at parties on the weekend.
