Social tolerance

i always thought that Davis is quite liberal compare to the other places; however, a transgender was complaining about how intolerant the Davis students were(they gave her weird stares and such; she ultimately decided to transfer). That gave me a huge negative view on Davis. if that’s true, I’d rather not go to Davis. I mean why would i expect them to treat homos like myself better?

Why not try to connect with the gay community at Davis before you decide about a school based on one person’s experience? I imagine there are plenty of ways to connect- UCD Facebook groups, student union groups, etc.

there are intolerant people at every college

I currently attend UC santa cruz and there are intolerant people here!

I understand why you might be apprehensive, especially if it’s a dear friend’s own poor experiences. However, there is a LGBT center on campus,

[Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Resource Center - Davis Wiki](http://daviswiki.org/Lesbian%2C_Gay%2C_Bisexual_and_Transgender_Resource_Center?action=show&redirect=Lesbian%2C+Gay%2C+Bisexual%2C+Transgender+Resource+Center)

There is also a whole core community for the LGBT crowd. Davis Wiki is ridiculously knowledgeable about this.

So please, look through this information, there probably are a lot of things going on that doesn’t reach everyone. 23,000 people is a lot of people on one campus…

thanks for the link; i will look through it
