Society and Genetics 102W

Has anyone heard anything about this class? I'm enrolled in Linguistics 1, which is an "Easy GE" so I've heard, but I want to get rid of my Writing II, and that class is perfectly interchangeable with my Linguistics course. It's taught by Dr. Vilain, who I've had before for my sex cluster (before I dropped it) but how is the intensity of the course? I'd be taking it with Chem 14B and Math 3C.

14b with scerri is a joke
3c with weisbart is a joke

even if socgen102w is hard u should still be able to handle it.

^ You clearly don’t know anything about Soc Gen 102W, as well as not answering his question.

Anyone else know about this class? (How hard for people who hate to write?) I’m rather nervous cause it’s an upper division.

lol im actually helping him out a lot buddy…he might think that 14b and 3c are a time investment and may not take 102w if its a little challenging…im helping him

Really easy class, 3 essays, one of 3 pages, one of 5, one of 7. I spent about 1-2 hours per page on each (including background research) and came out of the class with an A-. The McCabes use random quizzes that are based on their lectures as an attendance type counter and they are easy 5/5 if you pay attention. Basically a really easy class, easiest Writing II I can think of for a sciency person.

Thanks for the info. :)

I’m kind of considering taking it. It sounds interesting.

And I’m taking Math 3C with Towsner.

don’t take 3c with townser have u heard about that guy and how hard he is…dont take 3c now…wait a qtr if u must…3c is not a prereq for ANYTHING…u can still take physics without 3c (contrary to common belief)…i got screwed with a bad prof for 3c but other idiots just had a good prof and got a good score…

take 3c with townser and u’ll repent in…guranteed
