haha its so true. I was introduced to this site by a total nerd (luv you dearie) too.

lol. it's amazing

wow... those kids that typed those definitions are COOL

That is amazing.

lol, too bad both definitions are true, especially the affirmative action part.

There was a ridiculous anti-AA thread in the Cafe a week or two ago. It got deleted about an hour after it was created.

Hah. Funny though, their definitions were merely slight exaggerations!

lol...i didn't know if i should laugh or feel "insulted"... :)

however, there is truth in them. I don't like those bragging people either.

i'm come across this term too often. what's an affirmative action ?

It's when colleges are more lenient when considering applicants from minorities than typical white or asian applicants in order to diversify their school.

oh please, dont restrict it only to minorities. username, its supposed to help out those underrepresented individuals that would otherwise not have an opportunity due to socioeconomic factors.

Wouldn't you say that underrepresented individuals due to socioeconomic factors are also minorities? Being under the poverty line kind of makes you a minority.

^ thats what I meant. duh.

Your first sentence implies that you meant otherwise.

by minorities, he meant racial minorities, especially hispanics and blacks. thats not the point of affirmative action.

No, actually, you're wrong. But I honestly don't care. I'm not going to argue with you.

Cheers. :)

cheers to you as well
