Some Questions about UC System

I am applying to the UC system as an economics and mathematics/economics major. I know this fall is going to be really competitive. My question is should I apply to cal state Fullerton as my safety? I have not (and do not want to) taken speech; I don't even want to go to a cal state. I don't want to go to a private school. I just want to go to UCSC, UCSD, UCLA or UCB ( going to apply to all those).

Here are my stats:
uc gpa 3.85
overall gpa 3.87
work around 15-20 hours a week as a econ/math tutor (+ other work experience)
been the president of two clubs at my CCC (both major related) (and been in other clubs)
have had some cool/unique/entrepreneurial extracurricular stuff
lots of community service and awards
have some good stuff to write about in my essay (like challenges I have been through)
all my prereqs are done and beyond.
first generation college student
might get a b in one of my classes this semester :(
high school record sucks
have like 67-68 units (been at CCC for 2 years)
white male/kind of poor lol

EDIt (A's in all math, economics, accounting, statistics, got a couple of b's first semester in humanities classes)

I was hoping because I have above average stats that UCSC could be my backup. What do you guys think? Could you chance me at all those schools?
Here is a list of what major/department I am applying for:
UCSC (Economics B.A)
UCSD (Mathematics/Economics joint program)
UCLA (Mathematics/Economics joint program)
UCB (Economics)

Give me some feedback. Those are all of the schools I am applying for. If anyone asks me why I am only applying to those schools is that I do not want to get a lot of debt and I am fine going to a UC school (it is good enough for me)! Also, all those schools I like and I think they all are really respected. My main interest is economics but I want to have my doors open. I feel that math will give me the option to do grad economics or finance if I choose. Also, I might plan on going to law school so I like little debt :)

Also, UCB, UCLA are my top schools (of course) but I would be happy with all!

PS sorry for the bad english/grammar

Are you an international student?

If not, there is no need to apply to CSUF. UCSC and UCSD are good safeties for you. You have a stellar GPA as well as extracurriculars. Heck, even if you are an international student you should be fine.

I am not an international student. Sorry for not disclosing that in the post!

You’re totally fine for every school except Berkeley. Which, you still stand a chance, but everything else is a certainty

I wouldn’t apply to Cal-state Fullerton with those stats not worth the money.

I would suggest you tag UCSC and UCSD as back up for Berk and LA but it’s too late for tag now but you should have no problem getting into them anyways

O.K. Thank you for the response. I am not sure about TAG but I should be fine. I visited UCSC once and it seemed you could get in with a low gpa (2.0-2.5). I think the TAG period is over.

GPA 3.85 at least UC Berkeley
