Some UC schools and CSU schools?

Now that my stats are finally finalized and I know where I want to go, do, and what major, I would like input on chances. These will primarily be for publics in my state though, because my grades in 9th grade weren’t so hot.

Stats:
UC GPA: 3.83 weighted capped, 3.91 weighted uncapped
3 AP classes, 2 college courses(concurrent enrollment)
ACT: 33C, 34 superscored
Strong upward trend from a 3.0/3.2 freshman year to a 3.4/3.4/3.8/4.2 excluding college classes.
I failed a course freshman year and retook it to get an A, but I performed poorly overall that year due to personal issues and undiagnosed ADHD.

Schools of interest and major:
CSULB - kinesiology
CSUF - kinesiology
SDSU - kinesiology
UCI - exercise science
UCSB - biochemistry or psychological and brain sciences
UCSD - cognitive science
UCD - neurobiology
UCSC - neuroscience
UCR - neuroscience

EC: track, cross country, and volleyball for 4 years. Danced and sang competitively for 10 years, and did a lot of work with special needs kids in mentoring/helping them in sports or performances. (It’s not very diverse, but I leaned more towards the special needs volunteering Bc I have ADHD myself).

Thank you for chancing!

UC schools heavily consider GPA. That being said, most of them may be reaches. In addition, you are applying to extremely impacted CSUs, which prioritize those in their local area. Look into some privates if they are options; you may be able to receive merit aid for that ACT score.

@uclahopefull I would look into private schools but I’m actually pretty dumb haha, my GPA is so bad I can’t get merit aid for it.

CSULB/CSUF/SDSU/UCR: Match
UCSC/UCI: Match to High Match
UCD/UCSB: Low Reach
UCSD: Low Reach to Reach

Good EC’s, excellent ACT, good upward grade trend just GPA could be slightly better for the UC’s. Address your health issues in one of the personal insight essays and this could help.
You are a qualified applicant but due to the competition for your preferred majors and the UC’s in general, your chances are hard to predict. You will definitely have several choices come Spring.

Good Luck.

You should sail into all of the CSUs you list. UCR is pretty likely while UCSC will require a competent essay. (GPA is a little low) The other UCs are going to take a very compelling application but, certainly could happen.

Good luck.
