guys please help me, I really want to transfer and this could be the make or breaking point to my transfer. I got a C+ in a class that does not transfer over to the school I would like to transfer to. Now obviously the C+ killed my GPA. With the c+ I have a 3.4 and without I have a 3.6 now when I transfer will they look at my 3.4 OR MY 3.6???????? please help!! :(

It depends on the school. Many schools do not consider the GPA for transfer courses at all. Those that do usually only count the courses that transfer, so you would have a 3.6.

its for UNC chapel hill. would you happen to know? I did email them…lets just say I’m a little impatient but thank you for replying!

i would suggest going to your admissions counselor explaining your situation and ask if you can request your teacher to change that C+ to a P (for Pass) so it doesn’t affect your overall GPA. Tell them that this class doesn’t transfer over and it is drastically affecting my GPA. Even though the P/NP date has passed most schools will allow this because with a C+ you did pas the course. Hope this helps and good luck! :)
