Sending positive thoughts to the OP and his family as they get through these difficult days. His story has been HIGHLY instructive for many, I’m sure.

Just one more day I think?? Blessings on your son, NCDad, and your family as well.

If you count the day he was sentenced and today, that’s 10. Maybe he gets out today?

Hoping for a positive update and a good weekend to come.

A week from today, Independence Day will have a whole new meaning to OP’s son!

Best wishes to your family today NCDad!!

9 of the 33 kids on my son’s senior trip got busted for underage drinking. Parents had to pick them up and there was a big fine.

My son said there is a lot of peer pressure, but he doesn’t drink. We’re in WI which is a big drinking state.

He’s 16 and doesn’t seem inclined to drink anyway, but this experience will certainly dissuade him from drinking in college.

Adding ((HUGS)) and sending more good wishes to NorthCarolinaDad, Mom, Son, and family. You will remain in my thoughts and prayers.

I was a lawyer for a company with manufacturing facilities in many states and employees in many others. Wisconsin was the state where we had the most problems with employee alcohol-related incidents, DUIs and need for in-patient treatment. But don’t even get me started on Canada…

Thanks folks. I visited again today, and he will be released at 12:01 AM.

They release people a minute after midnight? Wow! That ten days went by quickly.

NCDad…hugs to you and your family…I’m sure it’s been a very longggg 10 days.
Hopefully, after you all have had a chance to re-group, you might be able to share your and his thoughts…

Only 6 more hours!

NorthCarolina Dad -Best wishes to you and you family- I hope you have time for R and R after today. (((( hugs))) to your entire family!

Hugs from this NC Mom too NC Dad! So glad NC Son is coming home!!

I am sure he will be happy to sleep in his own bed tonight.

OP - Glad to hear he doesn’t have to wait until morning. I’m sure you all will sleep better tonight. I’m happy the 10 days are over. Hopefully now he can enjoy the rest of his summer.

Please post here at 12:02!

So thankful to read your post this evening, NCDad. I know you all will sleep well tonight once your son is home. Give him a big hug! Thinking of you all as you adjust and relax next week.

So glad to hear this, NCDad!

NCDad, thank you so much for keeping us updated. So happy he is being freed and this 10 days went by without incident for him (and you). I’m sure you will be greeting him with a big huge cheeseburger (or whatever his favorite food is). And he will be quite happy to be back in his own bed tonight, appreciating his good fortune at having supportive parents and a good home to return to.

I will be curious to know, if you feel up to posting, your son’s reflection on the experience and how it has or is likely to change him, in his eyes… a few days from now, a month from now, a year from now when he is hopefully preparing to leave for college. If you are up for it, of course. Your experience has educated many of us, and we wish the best for your son moving forward.

p.s. also still extremely curious to know the ramifications to the other students involved (though less seriously)
