Soooo confused about ELC

<p>So I get this letter from the UC system saying that I don’t qualify for the top 4% ELC, but I do qualify for the state-wide eligibility ELC. I have no idea what the heck this means and I read the letter ten times and still have no clue.</p>

<p>Then, today I get a letter with an ELC ID number. Why do I still get an ELC number when I’m not top 4% of my class?? I already started my UC app and am almost done with it, so do I start over with this new ELC number?</p>

<p>no, you cannot start a new app. Eligible in the statewide context just means you will get in somewhere assuming you complete the app and required test scores and a-g classes. Of course, that 'somewhere' may not be your first choice (or second or third...)</p>
