Sophie Davis Pgm.

quick question…can you send the act instead of the sat to sophie davis?

Andy i hear you…haven’t heard a word from them yet. Any idea when the final interview letters are mailed out?

Iceman- I believe the end of march, we still have time but its driving me nuts.

andyboy, you didnt reply to my pm. after i gave u my stats, u didnt give me urs. and i believe they give you decisions by the end of march, not interview notifications

omg, i received my interview notification! but, i emailed them back saying the scheduled date was not possible b/c I have a major science fair competition on the same day. Do you think they’d take me into less consideration for this reason? I’m truly amazed and Sophie Davis has been my dream school, so I don’t want to screw up this golden opportunity.
=/

Honestly, I would take the interview days as they come. You’ll always have other opportunities to enter (and possibly win) a science competition, but you may never get another chance like this. This is your future, so think about it some more.

Desi chick: are you talking about NYCSEF by any chance?

As much as possible, try to get the interview rescheduled. I’m sure they’ll work something out. However, **if you can’t reschedule, I’m with xelbMS; I think the interview is more important than the science competition. **

I know it’s a tough decision. Do you think you have a good chance at going on to ISEF (or doing well)? Have you already won another science competition? Do you think you have a better chance at getting accepted into Sophie?

Best of luck!

^ Yes, NYCSEF exactly! And, I will try to reschedule if they pick up their phones/respond to my email soon lol. I truly think I have a better shot at Sophie than being selected for ISEF but this is pretty tough to choose from =/
thanks for the advice guys!

desichick when is ure interview? i’m still waiting to hear from them…everytime i call NO ONE ANSWERS!
and mdh625–>sry it took long for me to reply…i just finished up my brooklyn bamd interview and i disagree with andyboy…u dont need a 1400+ for brooklyn bamd…just try to get above a 1200 and make sure u have an amazing gpa as well as an AMAZING RESUME! u might not think it is important but trust me it is. i know several ppl in the program who have also told me the same thing

my interview is on the 23rd of march. But it may change if they re-schedule it. And i agree, no one answers when I call them! Even when I leave a message, they don’t call back. =/

Desi Chick: Have you tried contacting Geniece Pacifici-Elejalde (nini@med.cuny.edu), one of the administrators at SD, or Christopher Wanyony i(cwanyonyi@med.cuny.edu), the director of admissions?

Sophie Davis also has a contact form on their website… In the past they’ve actually responded to me. Url: [Contact Us](http://www1.ccny.cuny.edu/prospective/med/contact.cfm)

Zaara- they give you admission decisions on April 1st…not end of march. but they do interviews until the end of march. and sorry I totally didn’t see your PM until now. my stats are 1400 on the sat and 800 math 1 SAT 2 800 Chem and 780 Bio.

I want my interview for sophieeeeeeee

Does anyone know what questions I can expect? The interview is about 2-3 hours long and i’m really nervous =X

Ok, so they’ll definitely ask you what you know about Sophie Davis, so be familiar!

You may be asked to elaborate on some of your extracurriculars, or how you think your best friends would describe you.

They will know your essays well and might ask questions like that. They’ll ask what your school is like.

Whatever you do, don’t be nervous! Trust me, the nervousness fades once you begin the actual interview. Nervousness really hinders the possibility to have a good, relaxed conversation.

hey everyone! those of you who haven’t been notified about an interview yet, don’t freak out…yet. i remember my interview was on march 26th last year, and got my acceptance letter on april 2nd. give it another week. i hope to see some of you next year! any questions, feel free :)

hey everyone I’m new to this! I got an interview for Sophie Davis last week and I was extremely caught by surprise to even get one. My interview is this Thursday and I would really love to know what kind of questions they’ll be asking and what their looking for when choosing a student?

hey my interview has been rescheduled for this thursday too! I don’t know what exactly they ask (except what Burrrns wrote), good luck!

this sucks so much. desi chick is rescheduling her interview and i havent even gotten one yet…

^ don’t worry there’s still time left. I honestly did not expect the interview but sometimes the unexpected can happen, best of luck! :]
