Sophie Davis Pgm.

It will cost you 5 years of public university tuition (full price is $4k/year, but most students receive federal/state financial aid and scholarships) and 2 years of medical school tuition (that depends on whether you get matched to SUNY schools or private colleges in the future).

Thanks johnny tht was really good to know!

i know exactly how you feel

what do they ask in interview aside from questions based on essay

anyone got interview emails yet?

I hear there are three interviewers and they ask many questions like why medical, why sophie, and such.

Yes, there are 3 interviewers; 2 faculty, and 1 student. The entire process takes about 4 hours. They all press you to ensure that you are the candidate you expressed in the application, just reaffirm that and be yourself and you should be fine. Emphasize your medical interests and motivation for pursuing medicine, but donā€™t try to fake somethingā€“they will see right through you. I heard horror stories of interviewers making people cry last yearā€¦

Interview notifications donā€™t start going out till at least the first or second week of February, and continue through I believe the 3rd week of March. I got mine in the second week of March, so keep hanging in there with hope everyone!

Again, best of luck!

I actually got my notif. already.
So I am crippled with nervousness, as well as excitement.
I hope Iā€™ll be able to convey my interest in medicine as well as Iā€™m able to on paper.

(:

Good luck to everyone!

to ^ntshka
hey congrats! i had a question Were you notified about the interview through email or through mail?
thanks and good luck :)

Thanks!

Through email. :)

I got my interview notification 2 days ago, and my interview is tomorrow in the morning.
My last name is W, so I donā€™t think they do it alphabeticallyā€¦
I feel like my life depends on this. I think I might die from trauma if I donā€™t get into Sophie.

^I know how you feel. I was already rejected from Wayne Stateā€¦but Iā€™m hoping that Sophie is a little more forgiving. Though, if the description (on the previous page) of the interview process is true, it seems a little unnerving at best.

Hey CONGRATS to those who got an interview. I was wondering if you guys can put up ur stats; highschool, avg. SAT ACT scoresā€¦ thanks :)

Theres no minimum SAT or ACT score you have to get to get into Sophie right? Only a minimum gpa which is a 85. Also my friend just got his interview note but i didnā€™t (he goes to the same school and I applied earlier then him), does this mean I didnā€™t get selected for an interview?

Hey! I think Sophie sends out the interview letters on a rolling basis. If your friend got the interview letter earlier than you and you still didnt get one, doesnt necessarily tell us that you got rejected. Sophie sends out interview letters until march, so dont worry you will recieve one by march if you meet all the requirements =)

@nthshka and ninawood: How did your interviews go? Also, do you guys remember when you submitted your application?

Hey guys,

I had my interview today after being notified by Mr. Wanyonyi on the 3rd. I think myinterview went smoothly. The student interviewer, admissions director, and the faculty interviewer were extremely nice. The student interviewer said her interviewā€™s purpose was to ā€œcalm you downā€.The faculty interviewer was really interested in the research Iā€™ve done and the dean asked a lot about why you want to go to primary care rather than into other areas.

I can only hope now! :)

hi, Wangh1, if you donā€™t mind, could i ask you to post your credentials to see if i have anything similar
that way i can gauge if i should be expecting an interview or not

thank you

I didnā€™t get notified about an interview yet  should I be getting nervous?

I feel like it might be ACT scoresā€¦ i took them with Sophie Davis (residual testing) so is there any way to know what I got on it?

I had my interview with SD on the 1st of February. Apparently it was one of the first days they did the interviews so I got it pretty early. I donā€™t know if that was because of my credentials or the fact that I submitted my application in mid-December, seeing as how I had already written all 3 essays for other colleges I applied to then so I just sent it out early lols.

Some of you guys were asking for interviewees credentials, so Iā€™m just copying and pasting what I put up for the Yale SCEA Class of 2015 post also back in mid-December when I was admitted.

Iā€™m honestly 80% for Yale right now so I donā€™t know if I want to go to SD even if I get in, but I still respect the program and CCNY deeply so I showed up for the interviews.

Best of luck to all of you.

Decision: Accepted (to Yale, not SDā€¦yet LOL)
