Basically my schedule will for sure include
Chemisty HON
Geometry HON
English 2 HON
and i want to take
AP EUROPEON History
AP Psychology
AICE General Paper
which would leave me 1 elective

At my school we have a block schedule( helps with work load) but next year we might have the 7 class thing (not sure how it works
The way it looks the work load would be HUGE and i suppose i could handle it
but if i do bad in those classes taking them wouldn't be worth it

Hm, that’s weird. My school has the exact same kind of block schedule (4 1.5hr blocks, 8 45min periods, or a combination of the two) and we’re switching over to a 7 period schedule next year too.

All of your classes look like good choices, it shouldn’t be too hard for you to handle the work. I took 2 AP (and 1 IB) class this year, I’m a sophomore, and I think I handled it quite well. I also suggest you double up on math, or take it over the summer to get ahead. Other than that, your schedule looks nice. Good luck.

It’s a fine schedule. The only suggestion that I could make, provided you’re not terrible at math, would be to take Algebra II concurrently with Geometry. That way, you can take Pre-Calculus next year and Calculus as a senior.

Don’t listen to the other people. If you don’t want to double up in math don’t. Many people make mistakes because they’re going to fast. Take things slow, it’s only high school. Overall, your schedule looks really good. Also you’re lucky that your school allows Sophomores to take more APs than just AP World History lol. Good Luck.

I don’t really like math. I do well(A-B) in it though. I personally don’t want to go higher just geometry then alg2 then pre cal and i’m done.
and I’m not taking AP chem because two APs + 1 AICE (Practically an AP) classes are enough

My real concern is in AP EURO. I heard the work load is huge and its really hard.
everyone i’ve talked to says its hard as hell but i didn’t take an ap class freshman year so im basically falling back in terms of how i will compare to others for colleges

When you say you’ll be taking AICE and it’s ‘Practically an AP’ what does that mean? If by that you mean it’s as challenging as an AP class, you just don’t get the credit. I would suggest you don’t take it, unless you’re very advanced in the subject.

Also, I never had an AP Class Freshman year, I the AP classes I’m in now are some of my best grades and GPA boosters. I’m taking AP Human Geography and AP Language and I have A’s in both. I haven’t heard much about AP Euro, but if you do take it, be prepared to dedicate A LOT of time to that class.

The thing about AICE is its a program at my school from Cambridge. You take 6 Aice classes and pass them and you get a scholarship.

Aice General Paper is a class to help your writing skills which will help in AP Euro.
also “Writing” is one of my few weak points when it comes to like essay questions that will be on AP exams

My GPA is terrible at the moment, because i took my freshman year as a joke (sadly)
i got one D+ and a C+ and now i’m basically going to have to buckle down and actually work.

Ah, so it seems like it’s basically the same thing as my AP Language class. You develop your writing skills and learn to analyze other peoples’ writing. I take back what I said before, I think that’s a very good choice, as long as you feel you can succeed if you put forth some effort. Thanks to my class, I’m a MUCH better writer now than I was a year ago. I feel that my class definitely improved my writing ability and it really will help me in all other classes.

Oh okay good
and since i assume you are upper classmen or basically know what you’re talking about
I went to my guidance counseler today to see why my unweighted GPA was so low
He said its probably because i haven’t taken the End of Course exams yet, so they might of not been included into my gpa.
But if you know how to caculate it for UNWEIGHTED i’d greatly appreciate it
My Grades are
ALG 1 HON - B, C
Court Procedures - D+(i literally did nothing that quater :c), B
Spanish 1 HON- B+ B
Biology 1 HON- B A
and on my report card i got a 2.4 unweighted GPA which doesn’t seem right, considering i “basically” got two Cs

I’m done with all those classes now , and with my new classes i have ALL As at the moment.

Hello! I’m a freshmen, and my school has 10 periods in a day, and with a schedule like that with my school’s schedule, I don’t think you’ll get very much sleep. (my opinion)

Well, that being said, I am in Geometry H right now and I am terrible at it! (they say if you’re good at algebra, you’ll do bad in geometry, and vice versa)
Also, at my school, AP Psych and AP Euro are among the hardest classes, so maybe taking them together with a 7 period schedule might not be advisable–again my opinion!

I hear Chem H is pretty easy first semester, so that gives you time to adjust.

Currently I’m taking World History H (with the hardest teacher at school who coincidentally teaches AP Euro), Geom H, English 1 H, Bio H, Latin 1 and I spend about 5-6 hours if not more on work every night. Its tough but youll adjust in no time.

But wow, you’re school sounds pretty competitive if a lot of freshmen take AP. At my school, we’re not allowed to take any AP until soph with certain grades and prerequisites, and I can’t take Chem H before Bio, and AP Bio before Chem AND Bio H. Anyways, I digress…

I don’t know what AICE is, but depending on your social life, it may either be a living hell or a walk in the park.

Since, then i’ve spoken to A LOT of people that have taken Euro and they say it ruined their GPA and if u read my last post you know i can’t afford that.
So i ended up picking an “Easier” schedule since i have required credits i haven’t done yet
4 Honors classes, 1 AP , 2 Electives
