I’ve been thinking about my schedule for next year, sophomore year, and I’ve decided on most of my classes:
Debate (zero hour)
English 10 Honors
Spanish 2 Honors
AP Calc BC
AP Physics C
Either Engineering 2 or Advanced Orchestra
Student Athlete Fitness 2 (online)
Either APUSH or regular USH (graduation requirement)
Either AP Bio, Honors Bio/physics, or regular Bio (grad requirement)
Obviously, the classes I’m wondering about are Bio and USH. These are both classes I have to take in some form or another in my high school career, and since I’m planning on taking running start as a junior/senior (two years of free college!), I’m trying to get the required classes out of the way as soon as I can (I’ll actually only have one more after this year!). I’m planning on just finishing up my degree at the state school I’m doing running start at then going somewhere more “fancy” for grad school, so at this point I don’t care what colleges think. Also, these two courses are not going to add any needed credits to my college graduation requirements for the areas I’m currently interested in, so really, the level I take these classes at is for ME! What I can handle, what I’m not bored in, etc.
So, which classes do you recommend taking? With Bio, this would be the first and only (real) bio course I take, so I’d like to have a good foundation. Of course, a semester of the honors course would be laughably easy since it’s physics… and I would be taking AP Physics C. Yeah, the honors course was geared towards the 9th grad honors chem students. Regular bio would be a nightmare (ugh stupid people easy worksheets just no.) and AP Bio (from what I’ve heard on here) is a different kind of nightmare especially without a previous biology class.
With APUSH, history is not my favorite thing (not that it’s not interesting), but I have a 97ish in AP Euro this year so meh yeah. Regular history would probably be pretty awful though.
I need to choose one of my non AP/elective classes to take online though, because my stupid school only has 6 classes a day. So, I guess I could take regular USH or Bio online, but I thought I might take honors English online since my current class has been boring me to death (springboard should go die.)
Idk, did that even make sense? Can anyone help me out? I want to be challenged but not overloaded with work.
PS. (is that a thing on forums? Too bad, it is now). For comparison, my freshman (current) schedule is
Debate (zero hour)
Honors English
Pre-AP Physics
AP Euro
Advanced Orchestra
Spanish 1
Pre-Engineering
Pre-Calc (online)
Fitness/Health (online)
And I find it quite manageable
So yeah
