I'm trying to figure out how much is too much.

Semester 1:
AP Calculus BC online
AP Computer Science AB online
English II Honors online
AP Stats online
Dual enrollment General Chemistry I

Semester 2:
AP Calculus BC online
AP Computer Science AB online
AP Stats online
Dual Enrollment French I
Dual Enrollment French lab I

Self study AP psych

Thoughts? Suggestions?
To give you an idea of me as a student I currently have 5 honors classes AB schedule, 1 year-long AP class online, and 1 semester long honors math course. I have an A in everything this year except for Algebra II-Standard online from first semester. My final grade hasn't been reported, but I expect a high B. (This was because I had a family issue and had to do 80% of the course in 3 days.)

Looks good to me, I took 5 AP's this year and I'm doing fine.

I know several people whop are applying to NCSSM with similar levels of math, they haven't announced acceptances, but I would be surprised if at least a couple of them aren;t accepted...

How about AP Lit instead of Honors English II? I have a 100 in Honors English I so far, and I have the lexile score near the average score for a doctorate student.

I could probably then self-study APUSH, and exempt American Studies. (I've been told I have a really good chance at NCSSM, so I am planning my schedule assuming that I will get accepted.)

Hey, I'm a freshman too! I just submitted my course request for next year. Hopefully, I'll be taking:
AP Euro
Honors English II
Algebra II
Spanish III
Physiology
ASB (If I get elected. If I don't, I might take AP Comp Sci, or just not take a 7 period day, because the normal amount at my school is 6)
Cross Country/Track P.E.

I'm not taking honors math or science, because they're not 5 point A's, and I've heard that they're needlessly hard, with lots of busy work. There's no honors Spanish at my school until Spanish IV, so that's out, too.

By the way, your course schedule sounds really rigorous... It's like what I'm planning for my junior year. Are you sure you can handle that? What was your schedule this year?

I'm a current sophmore. My school doesn't allow sophmores to take AP courses and honors/advanced course aren't avaiable in GGlobal Studies, Foreign Lang, and a couple other subjects. but here's this years courses:

Global Studies 10 (required)
Band/Choir (no honors available)
Advanced Math B
Latin 3 (no honors available)
Advanced English 10
Chemistry (advanced for me since im a sophmore and this is a junior only class unless you're advanced)
Gym (required)

1st semester:
Honors World History
Honors English I
Honors Writing
Honors Engineering
Honors Apps of science (We have kinda unique courses here)
Algebra II online (not offered at my school, and no honors possible online)
AP Art History online

2nd Semester:
Honors World History
Honors English I
Honors Engineering
Honors Apps of science
Honors Precal online
AP Art History online

We have AB schedule

So

A day:
Honors World History
Honors English I
Honors Writing 101
Honors Precal online
AP Art History online

B day:
Honors Engineering
Honors Precal online
Honors Apps of science
AP Art History online

Then of course, we are a Project-based learning school, so I often have more work in each honors class than in my AP class.

I also have an ungodly amount of ECs for a freshman.... like there are many days I don't get home until 8:00pm.... then I have my projects/classwork/homework

Megan, I have to say that my schedule would, by far, be the first time in my county's history a sophomore has had so many AP classes. I don't believe they look down at people whose schools don't allow a lot, but I'm really aiming high. My school really offers me the chance to take on a lot.

I still have a while to confirmed my schedule.....

Okay.... well if anyone has taken these courses, could you tell me about your experience with the course?

This is what I would like to happen:

Summer: Start the self study of AP Psych, APUSH, and start pre-reviewing for Calculus BC and CS AB. I'm probably only going to be a governer's page also, which would be only 6 days.

Semester 1:
AP Calculus BC online
AP Computer Science AB online
AP English Lit
AP Stats online
Dual enrollment General Chemistry I

Apply to NCSSM

Semester 2:
AP Calculus BC online
AP Computer Science AB online
AP Stats online
AP English lit
Dual Enrollment French I
Dual Enrollment French lab I

(The language classes are dependent on my performance in 1st semester. They are co-requisite, but I may file to take them separately.)

Summer of Junior year: first half of Multivariable with EPGY if accepted by NCSSM.

I estimate this schedule to take me less than 6-7 hours a day. Would anyone else like to make an estimate? My art assignments for the entire week can usually be done in about 2 hours.... however it's the 100 pages of reading each week that's the hardest.

Could we assume for about 30 seconds that I'm not crazy?

wow. i'm in 9th grade too. my school isn't that good, i guess.

my sophomore schedule:
AP US History
Honors English
Honors Alg II/Trig
Chemistry (no honors available)
IB Spanish 5 (or 6, unsure)
University of Minnesota Hebrew II (5 college credits)

also i'm taking UMn spanish 4 over the summer for 5 more credits. yeeeah.

unfortunately i learned that i'm not capable of self studying :P

You have to realize that the average school doesn't even offer AP classes until your Junior year (that's how every other school in my county is) I'm taking advantage of online resources, so its more what my state offers than what my school offers (although we do only have honors classes)

haha, i self studied the first half of AP psych over the summer, then the school year happened and i got overloaded with HW, and i haven't even looked at the textbook in like 3 months... haha... oh well. maybe next year, but probably not. :/
