Hello! I was not accepted into ucla or cal this year, however they are my top schools. I have a 4.5 GPA and 1560 SAT scores so i was hoping to get into at least one. However i did get into ucsd. Is it possible for me to transfer from ucsd to ucla or cal after one year?? I have heard transferring as a sophomore is rare so I’m not sure it can be done. Also, i have heard transferring from UC to UC is also difficult since UCs give priority to community college students. However, if i work hard to get stellar grades at ucsd, is it possible to transfer after a year?
generally, you need 60 semester units to transfer to a UC. Your AP credits count toward that total. If you start with 18, take 6 the summer after Sr year and 18 per semester - it can be done in one calendar year. But, you will be a Jr.
Thank you! Do you know how many credits AP classes count for? I have a 4/5 in AP Euro, US History, Calc AB, BC, Biology, Psychology, and Language. Do you think this is 18 credits?
each of the should equate to 3 semester units
