Sophomore vs. Junior Year

I know by now that Junior year is the pinnacle of your high school career, but how much weight does sophomore year have on your admissions chances?

In sophomore year, I took AP Statistics, AP US History, Latin III Honors, English II Honors, and Chemistry Honors, and I ended up with a cumulative average of 90. I was really bummed about this year, because my Freshman year average was significantly higher than this year. The main reason why my grade got stomped down this year was because of poor time management on my part and an increased course load (never a good combo...). I'm getting stressed about Junior year because I've just set the low bar for myself, and my mom is making my average seem like a death wish upon my college prospects.

Next year, I'll be taking AP Physics B, AP Euro Hist., AP Latin Caesar/Vergil, Pre-Cal/Trig Honors, and English III Honors. I was classes were a pain in the rear, and I know I'll have to bust my own to really improve upon my Sophomore average.

That being said, if I have a miraculous Junior year, will I be able to fix my slump that happened last year?
