ooh good. i think our external social director has a problem with tri-delt

Oh that's too bad :( u missed out cuz the pancakes were amazing! hehe

Well, I limit my statement to Asian affiliated frats/sororities. I'm totally cool with others... because they actually do stuff. Don't take it like I'm a greek-hater cuz I'm not. I'm pretty damn close to rushing in the fall myself.

My daughter joined a sorority and I think it's one of the best decisions she's made at UCLA. I won't say which one for privacy reasons, but it really helped her adjust to college. She's met some really good friends there, plus she's done a lot of activities she wouldn't have otherwise. I don't feel she's buying friends. Many groups, in and out of school, have fees involved. By her living in the house rather than the dorms, she is saving a lot of money , more than enough to cover the sorority expenses. I think the trick really is finding the one where you fit in the best. UCLA isn't high school. Popularity might not be the most important criteria when looking for a sorority to join. If you rush, you should go in with an open mind and try to find a house you feel comfortable in, with girls you like and could be friends with.

so if i rush in the fall (frat), i live in a house? whats a house anyways? what about my dorm?

It depends, on space, most likely you will not live there until the following year.

so.. do the asian greeks really have that bad of a rep? i was thinking of rushing for a sorority, but now i'm not quite so sure.

See for yourself! Most important thing is if it works for you. No harm in trying.

give it a shot, it wasn't really for me. But as emmeline said, go for it.

Deuces: What was your experience like?

This is about sororities, but if anyone is interested in an Asian frat, check out the Lambdas . One of their nights is taken outside [place not revealed] and it definitely wasn't dry as told . . .
