Hey Guys, Nathan here. My (realistic) dream school is MSU (Michigan State University) and I was wondering if anyone could get a better read on my chances. I have a 3.771 (weighted) GPA and a 31 ACT. I’ve taken 3 A.P. Courses and received 5’s on them all. (U.S. History, Government & Politics, and English Language) I am going to be a 4 year member of the Tennis team, bowling team, and Track team and will graduate with 8 varsity letters. I also compete in Michigan Youth in Government where I have been awarded an outstanding senator award. Generally for every year my second semester has been worse than my first and I have (approximately) 2-3 C’s for semesters but none of you average out to a C for the year. (Caveat depending on the class either a 98% or a 95% is an A so the grading scale is pretty strict.) Thanks in Advance.
Obviously, you will get in.
Sorry, I’m just really concerned with possibly missing out on my dream school especially since I have a few C’s and only know my weighted GPA
I’d say you’d definitely get in! My brother goes to State and got into the honors college with similar stats and my step-sister got in with a lower ACT than you as well. I think your extracurriculars and ACT score compensate for a lower GPA, especially when there are admits with GPAs in the 2.0-2.9 range. I’m applying to UMich and MSU so maybe I’ll see you around hahaha!!
