Sorry Guys, another SAT Retake Thread

I am really sorry about this, but I have an ACTUAL predicament, as opposed to the usual 2310, should i go for it again???? So, here's my scores on my first try:
Jan 2007 SAT:
CR- 780
M- 780
W- 690 (710/8 essay)
1560//2250

I am extremely pleased, of course, with my CR and Math scores. I also have no problem with either of my totals. The thing I am afraid of, is that my writing scores will hold me back at top schools. I know many of them do not care about them yet, but I am class of '08, and by next year, what if they do count them? In practice, I usually get an 11/12 essay (in practice w/ a tutor), but this particular topic, I happened to have nothing good to write about. If that essay were a 12, I would have gotten a 740 at least, and then I would have nothing to worry about. My fear in re-taking the test, is that I will do about the same on math, but will most definitely decrease by 40 points on CR. (I got really lucky, and somehow knew every vocab word). I really don't know what to do at this point. Please tell me what you think.

Also, if a school has score choice, are they totally blind to lower scores, or do they just try their best not to let it influence them?

When you say you had nothing good to write about, what topic / examples did you give? I'd say a lot is based on writing style and not so much on content (as long as your general ideas are in the ballpark of what they're looking for). I say retake.
