I really want to apply ED with Sterns in fall of 2010.

My GPA is a 3.72 unweighted but I have improved a lot every single year because I have many family complications during my freshmen year. By time I graduate I would have taken 11 out of the possible 17 AP classes offered at my school. However 3 of these are AP Art Classes and I am no artist so hopefully it wont look too bad.

I also plan to apply by sending in there AP scores instead of an SAT score. I got a 5 in ap calc, 4 in us, and a 3 in chem and english. For Stern you are required to send a math score so hopefully calc is looked at most :D!

ECs:
Key Club- 4 years, various leadership positions, 250 hours of community service.
California Scholarship Foundation- 2 and a 1/2 years, president, 30 hours of community service
Veterinary Hospital-2 years, 200 hours
Rancho Simi Valley Park District and Recreation- 80 hours along with helping them getting teens involved with the support and passage of a new park.
Junior Statesmen of America-2 years
California Boys' State- Executive Secretary (chief of staff) to the Governor
Interned with two businessmen creating and building a restaurant.

You should think about going with three SAT Subject Test Scores instead because it has the same requirements as the AP scores (1 lit or humanities, 1 Math or Science, 1 non language of your choice). This way you can take both Math 1 and 2, and then a humanities test. Math 1 is super easy I got a perfect score, and Math 2 might just require some refreshing or learning of like one or two topics that you haven’t seen before. but I agree with SDonCC you should only choose one of the alternate routes for test scores if you have superb scores and a 3 definetly won’t cut it. Try to aim for above 730 on the subject tests it should put you in at least the 90% percentile. But seriously take Math 1 and 2, if you took calc you can get a perfect score because I took the test before I took Calc.

Cant you combine them anymore? 2 sat’s one Ap? If thats possible I’d go for Chem SAT II, but really I think you have a good chance. Where are you from? If your from NYC or even the tri-state area, you may want to up your scores. If your from somewhere where NYU gets few applications you’ll have a better chance.

^ haha that makes a big difference. I mean for schools like Notre Dame, Boston College, or Georgetown it makes more of a difference than for NYU, but it still makes a good difference in your case.
