I was wondering if any of you attend UA, or have children that do, and are interested in Spanish. I want to join UA’s equivalent of “Spanish club” if we have one. I’ve been to the Source’s website and tried to look through the list of organizations on campus and stuff, but most of the organizations don’t have any type of description to tell you what they are for or even what kind of organization they are. I may have missed something very obvious, so excuse me if I did, haha, but I honestly can’t stand browsing through their lists any more. So, I thought I would just come here and see what you guys knew about it. Thanks for any help :)

We were also trying to see if there was a SHPE (Soc. of Hispanic Professional Engineers) chapter. Anyone?

RTR - Sigma Delta Pi is what you’re looking for: [Sigma Delta Pi - Beta Alpha Chapter](http://bama.ua.edu/~mlc/sigmadeltapi/)

SC2B - I think there is a chapter of SHPE at UA, but it doesn’t seem to be very active at the moment

For those who are very interested in Spanish, I recommend doing Dr. Cano’s summer trip to Spain. This is a faculty-led group study abroad.

[Capstone International Academic Program Spain](http://international.ua.edu/programs/newsite/faculty-led-group-programs/spain/)

Sigma Delta Pi is (or at least used to be) a Spanish honorary. You have to be invited to join (based on grades) and you usually aren’t invited until your junior year.
Of course, things may have changed. I would think there’d be some kind of group for Spanish majors/minors. Check with the department when you get there.

Alright, guys, thanks for the help!
