Does anybody have some insight into living on a specialty floor at Warren Towers. Although my son did not request to be on any specialty floor, as a Freshmen, he has been assigned to a specialty floor this year. He’s a bit nervous that he will not have anything in common with the other people on the floor. However, since he has been assigned to the “Common Ground” floor, my thinking the philosophy of this floor is all about diversity and finding the common bonds of the group. Does anybody have personal experience of living on this floor or other specialty floors in Warren?

I never heard of the “common ground” floor, but I lived in Warren for two years and was on a specialty floor one year. It was a while back (am on here now as a parent too. ), but I remember the pre-med floor, all girls’ floor, and COM floor.

Chances are there are a bunch of other people who didn’t request a specialty floor either but ended up on one just like your son. He will be fine and he will meet so many different types of people in Warren Towers. It is the best place to live as a freshman IMHO, and I’d almost be willing to bet that some of his closest friends freshman year end up being from his floor, as that is usually the case.

Best of luck to him!

I didn’t live on the Common Ground floor, but I lived on the co-Ed COM floor my freshman year. Not everyone was in COM. The floor was the highlight of my year and most of my best friends I met there. There will be a few communal activities related to your floor.

Your son has nothing to worry about, should be a great time!
