Spring 08 Transfer to UT....what are my chances?

A year ago i was planning to transfer to McCombs, but up until now i still haven't taken calculus, so i decided to forget about transfering to McCombs.

However now that i have witnessed others with lower GPAs than mine (i have a 3.6) being accepted into the college of liberal arts, i'm starting to regret that i didn't apply. Also now i have finally built up the courage to decide that i really don't wanna major in business management, and instead wanna major in political science (i have a passion for politics!). So now i'm thinking of taking a shot at applying to UT's liberal arts program for the spring 08, with government as my 1st choice, and sociology as my 2nd choice, and would like to know from you guys "DO I STAND A CHANCE??".......

My stats:
GPA(cumulative): 3.6
community service (about to do plenty this summer)
volunteer tutor
letter of recommendation from a professor (do i need more....?)
hopefully join an organization in the fall

oh and i have 51 hrs of credits.

I think you'll get in.

hope so!! does anyone think i'm missing something? or is there anything i should do throughout the summer to beef up my resume?

really no...UT CAS is not very difficult to get into if you're in-state and have a good GPA.

thanks for the response brand_182! I'm curious though i potentially have a geography professor (the class i was in of his was more of a geopolitics course) who could write me a recommendation letter, does it matter that he is a geography professor and not a political science professor, seeing as i plan to apply as a political science major? Or would it be fine for him to write me a recommendation letter?

no it shouldn't matter. I applied as a business major this year and had recs from an English and Math teacher. The most important thing is to get recs from teachers that really like you/know you well.
