Spring 2013 UF Transfer Acceptance/Rejection

Congratulations!!! Your application to the University of Florida for the Spring 2013 term has been approved!

AH!!! Beyond excited! I found out last night, on my birthday actually, and was so excited I started crying! It is a conditional admittance as long as I get a grade of B or better in Stats and Sociology. SO excited to finally be apart of the Gator Nation:)

I was rejected. I have an AA from a Florida 2-year college and was denied admission to every public 4-year school in Florida.

Hi, I am actually a high school senior. I plan on going to FIU for my AA and transferring to UF afterwards. I wanted to know what my chances of getting accepted to UF would be if I would be transferring from a university versus a community college. My intended major is journalism with a minor in anthropology. I noticed in a previous thread I was reading, that many were saying the CLAS is a very competitive and difficult college to get into. I’m assuming this stands for the College of Liberal Arts and Science. I want to know how competitive the College of Journalism and Communications considering it is a popular major. Should I apply for another college and switch. Is that possible? I don’t know how transfers work and would greatly appreciate any advice or stories of past experiences. I really want to go to UF and will do whatever possible to end up there.

@fsbeit FIU is a four year university and doesnt offer AA degrees, you would have to go to a community college for that. I recently applied as a transfer to UF for spring 2014 from FIU (i’m a current junior at FIU) and from what I’ve read its easier to get in if you have an AA because they give preference to those students and harder coming from a 4 year university.

Closing thread; spring transfers are finished.
