@emart95 Yes!! So much to do! I have to call college board to send FIT my AP test scores and then go to the doctor for them to fill out the medical record paper they asked for. So busy!

@xokikixo I called them a little while ago and they told me it was optional to send the scores. I did horribly on them and they said if any of them were a 3 or more, that I should send them because I can get credit. I’m sure you knew that but I figured I’d let you know anyway. And the woman in admissions asked if I wanted to be connected to the billing department to get more information on when my deposit should be processed but she gave me an estimate that if it doesn’t post today, that it should by mid-week and if it doesn’t to call them back. So that would probably go for you too.

@emart95 Oh really? Optional? YES! I’m with you. I did horribly too unfortunately. I definitely did not get a 3… Thanks for letting me know!

Okay, I’m keeping a lookout on my bank account daily. I’m sure they must of received our deposits already but haven’t processed them yet.

Also, I’m submitting my fasfa tonight (I know I’m a little late sadly), but when do you think I’ll hear from Financial Aid with the money? I know I definitely will receive since my sister does. I’m sure since tuition is due Jan I’ll have to put out of pocket if I don’t hear from FASFA, but I hope it won’t take super long. Also, all schools do payment plans right?

I know I should call the school and ask all these questions haha, but figured I’d see what you can let me know first :)

@xokikixo Actually, they just took the money out of my account (or it’s pending technically but that means they are processing it) BUT MyFIT is exactly the same.
As long as you submit all necessary forms and add FIT to your FAFSA, you should receive a financial aid package. Tuition is due in January, but I am certain there is a payment plan you can take advantage of. My leftover after fed aid wasn’t very much, but still more than I can pay out of pocket so I will either have to ask if FIT has any money to give (which they probably don’t being a state school and community college) and/or look into some sort of scholarship to help cover it. If I can’t swing that, then the amount will have to be paid on a payment plan. Otherwise, FIT is never seeing that money lol.

@emart95 Mine still hasn’t been taken out so hopefully tomorrow.

Ok great. I’ll definitely do a payment plan rather than paying the full amount right away. Hope I’ll hear from financial aid by end of December. Hope you’ll get all your finances sorted out too!

Do they notify us when it’s time to register for classes?

I would like to receive a decision!!! But admission officer said i will be receive next couple of weeks DAMN!!!

@xokikixo Yeah. I contacted them again and they said MyFIT should change tomorrow and if it is the same on Wednesday to contact them again. Not too worried about the finances. You really can’t be. But just do your FAFSA and keep in contact with the financial aid office.
From what I’ve heard and as it’s been said on here before, registration starts December 16th. I guess it says that the student version of MyFIT.
@Iamjenn That really sucks. Where did you say you were from again?

@emart95 I’m from Korea but staying in Boston. So worried… Why did they lost my Toefl score!

@Iamjenn Wow. I don’t know. Just try and keep your head up and keep in contact with the admissions officers.

@emart95 Thank you!! I hope they’ll process my check tomorrow. I get so worried and anxious.

If its not processed tomorrow im gonna call just to make sure they recieved it. :)

@xokikixo Same! That’s a good plan.

I received an phone call from my admission officer and i am waitlisted for fmm 1 year aas program. Do i have a hope to get accepted?

Hi @iamjenn it all depends on the number of students who were accepted but do not attend. If you call back you may can get an idea of where you would fall on the list. For the fall I know of a handful of students who were accepted after being waitlisted. Please message me with any questions I would be happy to answer them! I am current AAS FMM student.

Does anyone have any questions about FIT? Please message me!

@artsyfartsy96 I have a question regarding housing.
I did the online application and paid the 300 deposit. When I log into MyHousing on the top left I can see the three options (Home Overview - Personal Preferences - Dining) but I cant find any Room Selection (or roommate selection) button. Is that okay or is there something else I should do?
Thank you!

Hi @mmhh789, I am actually not familiar with the housing portal since I do not live on campus however, I do believe there is a seperate housing form that you have to fill out that you can find under the student tab on MyFIT. I don’t know what it’s called, but from there you should be able to request the type of dorm and roommates!

@artsyfartsy96 hey (: ! I applied to FIT last year as a FMM major but was waitlisted, but since this was my dream school I re-applied for this spring term, but i was waitlisted again. I emailed the school back to be remain on the waitlist. BUT I feel like I’m wasting my time on it. I’m just not sure if I should just attend a community college for two years or I was thinking about attending the art institute of fort lauderdale for two years as an FMM major then transfer to FIT. I just want to make a better choice for me to get accepted to FIT in the future since I can’t count on being accpeted from the waitlist.

@artsyfartsy96 Have you had courses back to back yet? I’m trying to figure out if having one class say at 12:10 and then another right after at 3:10 will be too stressful/draining. And also, are there any days the majority of FIT students have off? I was at another SUNY and the way people’s schedules fell, most people didn’t have any classes on Wednesday And lastly, have you taken any courses outside of your major yet? Other than general education classes, I mean. I was able to get in and start registering (we’re not supposed to register till the 16th) and I tried signing up for an FMM class relevant to my major (AMC) and it told me I couldn’t because the course was major restricted.

@bini0625 I had also heard if you apply for FIT as an evening and weekends student, you have a better chance or getting in. I can’t promise if you did that that you’d get in, but I’ve heard it’s easier. And if you do that, you can still be full-time and receive housing if you need it.

I applied for 2015 spring FD , but I haven’t get decision mail yet. Am I failed? Is there anybody who applied to Fashion Design and got decision mail? I am so anxious and worried now
